Information we collect

When you use the help assistant you can explore without giving personal details. If you submit a request, we collect your name, email, optional phone number, ZIP code, damage type and the short description you provide. We store a one-way hash of your IP address for spam prevention.

Location preferences

Your chosen city, state and ZIP are saved on this device. Where hosting provides a privacy-appropriate location estimate, we label it as approximate; it may reflect a VPN or internet provider. It never replaces a manual choice. You can choose Nationwide at any time. We request browser location only after you choose “Use my location.” Rounded coordinates are shared with Photon / OpenStreetMap to identify a city; precise coordinates are not stored. User-entered city or ZIP lookups are sent to Photon or Zippopotam.us without contact details. The property ZIP, optional city and state submitted with a help request may differ from your current location.

How we share it

• If you request contact from a specific professional, only that professional can view your request.
• General requests are reviewed by our team and are shared with a professional only as you've consented.
• We do not sell your information or distribute it to lists of advertisers.

Marketing

Educational emails are optional and separate from service-related consent. You can opt out at any time.

Your choices

You may request access to or deletion of your information by contacting us. Account holders will be able to export and delete their data from their account settings.

Security

Data is stored with access controls that limit who can read it. No system is perfectly secure.
